How to Use Version History?

HelpSite automatically protects your work while you edit articles. It saves changes to the database every 10 seconds to prevent data loss from browser crashes or accidental navigation.

How It Works

  1. Open the article editor.

  2. In the right-hand sidebar, click View Drafts & Version History.

  3. The version panel will display a timeline of past versions, including:

    • Who made the change

    • When the version was saved

    • Whether it was autosaved or manually saved

  4. Hover over any version to select Open Version and view the article at that point in time.

  5. To return to a previous version, click Revert.

Good to Know

  • Autosaved versions are created automatically while you're actively editing.

  • These are labeled and time-stamped for clarity.

  • Manually saving, assigning a category, or generating an article can also trigger a new version.

  • Autosave only creates checkpoints when changes are made—if nothing is edited, no autosave occurs.
