AI KB Generator
The AI KB Generator turns your existing content, or nothing at all, into a full, organized HelpSite knowledge base you can review before anything goes live.
Point it at your website, your existing documents, or just paste in some text, and it scans what it finds, proposes a category and article structure, and drafts every article for you. It proposes a plan first, gives you free sample drafts to preview quality, and only creates real articles in your knowledge base after you approve them.
If you don't have any existing content yet, that's fine too. The AI KB Generator can build a starting structure and draft articles from scratch, based on a short brief about your product and audience.
For example, the AI KB Generator can help you:
Build a complete set of categories and articles from your website, PDFs, and Word documents
Start a knowledge base from scratch with no existing content
Propose a category structure and article list before writing anything
Flag possible duplicate content before it's drafted
Generate a few sample articles so you can preview the writing quality first
Let you edit every article in a full editor before it's created
The AI KB Generator is designed for teams that want a working knowledge base fast, without giving up control over what gets published.
What can I use it for?
Common uses include:
Migrating your knowledge base off another help desk tool
Turning existing PDFs, Word documents, or internal notes into published articles
Starting a brand-new knowledge base for a new product or site
Filling gaps in an existing knowledge base around a specific topic
Who should use this feature?
The AI KB Generator is useful for:
New HelpSite customers setting up their first knowledge base
Teams migrating content from another help center or internal docs
Support and content teams who want a head start on writing articles
Admins launching a new site who don't have any help content yet
What sources can I use?
You can build your knowledge base from any combination of:
Website - Add your website or existing help center and the AI KB Generator can crawl its public pages.
Documents - Upload files such as PDFs, Word/.docx documents, and plain text files.
Google Drive - Connect Google Drive and use your existing Drive files as source material for your knowledge base.
Paste - Paste text directly into the AI KB Generator.
Note: Adding sources is optional. You can also start from scratch without providing any existing content.
Do I need existing content to use this?
No. If you don't add any sources, the AI KB Generator uses your brief, a few quick questions about your product, audience, and tone, to propose a starting structure and draft articles on its own.
Will articles publish automatically?
No. Generated articles are created as drafts by default. Nothing is visible on your live knowledge base until you review it and choose to publish.
Can it create duplicate articles?
The AI KB Generator checks for duplicates before anything is drafted, both against the sources you've added and against articles already in your knowledge base. Anything that looks like a duplicate is flagged so you can decide whether to skip it.
What kinds of articles can it write?
How-to guides
Conceptual explainers
FAQs
Troubleshooting articles
Does this use AI credits?
Scanning your sources and generating the proposed plan is always free. Generating your first few sample articles is also free.
Generating the rest of your approved articles uses your plan's AI generation allowance. See AI KB Generator credits and billing for details.
