HelpSite MCP (Model Context Protocol) Server

The HelpSite MCP Server lets you connect your HelpSite knowledge base to AI tools that support MCP, also known as Model Context Protocol.

With MCP, supported AI tools can securely work with your HelpSite content through your HelpSite API key. This makes it easier to find articles, review your site structure, draft new help content, and manage knowledge base updates without opening every article manually.

For example, you can ask an AI tool to:

  • Find articles that mention a certain topic

  • Show your HelpSite sites, categories, and articles

  • Retrieve the full content of an article

  • Draft a new article for a specific category

  • Update an existing article

  • Help organize categories

The HelpSite MCP Server is designed for teams that want to use AI-assisted workflows while keeping their HelpSite content connected and up to date.

What does MCP mean?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is a standard that lets AI tools connect to outside systems, such as HelpSite, and use approved tools to access or manage information.

In HelpSite, MCP acts as a bridge between your knowledge base and supported AI tools.

What can HelpSite MCP help with?

HelpSite MCP can help you work with your knowledge base faster by giving supported AI tools access to HelpSite actions such as searching, reading, creating, and updating content.

Common uses include:

  • Searching your knowledge base for articles about a topic

  • Reviewing all articles in a site

  • Finding articles in a specific category

  • Pulling the full content of an article into an AI conversation

  • Drafting a new support article

  • Updating article titles or content

  • Reviewing your category structure

  • Creating or editing categories

Who should use this feature?

HelpSite MCP is useful for:

  • Support teams that manage a large help center

  • Content teams that regularly update knowledge base articles

  • Operations teams that want to keep documentation organized

  • Admins who want to use AI tools to review or manage HelpSite content

  • Technical teams that already use Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, or other MCP-compatible tools

Which AI tools can I use with HelpSite MCP?

HelpSite MCP is built for MCP-compatible AI tools. The expected use cases include Claude Desktop, Claude Code, ChatGPT, and other AI clients that support MCP.

Availability may depend on the AI tool you use and its current MCP support.

Does HelpSite MCP use HelpSite AI credits?

No. HelpSite MCP connects your knowledge base to the AI tool you choose. The AI processing happens through your AI tool account, not through HelpSite AI credits.
